CPU temperature warning

Dear friends!

I am using a Pio-cluster (being the leader a RBPI5).

I keep getting the warning message from monitor of:

“CPU temperature at 79 ℃”

Any idea of what this could be?

Thanks in advance!

That’s pretty warm for a Raspberry Pi, but also expected! RPi5s do consume a lot more power than other versions. A hot RPi (above 80C) will throttle itself, so you might be losing some performance. A few ways things you might consider changing:

  • adding metal heat sinks to the Pi’s chips. These aren’t very effective, but have some difference.
  • Allow more air flow by moving objects clear of the Pi. This isn’t always possible in the Pioreactor.
  • Cool the ambient temperature more.
  • Ignore it. If it reaches 90C+, then I would worry more.

Hi! I’ve had similar issues. I have now decreased the tª of the chamber where the Pios are. Any way we could also log the CPU’s internal temperature?

Bests!

It is logged! You can see it in the “detailed” view of the Logs page. It only measures it every ~6 hours however.

Yahu! thanks Cameron
