Creating multiple clusters

Hi! I have no prior experience with this system, but I am trying to create several clusters using the pioreactor GUI, to no avail. Up until today, I had been adding workers to an existing cluster of 5 (leader/worker + 4 workers) connected to my wifi network, as indicated by the documentation, without issues. However, when I try to create another cluster, I see no option but to add the new device (which has a leader image installed) as another worker in the existing cluster.

Thus, my question is: can I create more than one cluster? And what is the preferred way to do it? I am not sure if this is something that has to be solved exclusively through cmd (I am using Windows) or if there is an easy fix I am missing on the pioreactor GUI .

I appreciate your help!!

Hi @afavier,

“Cluster” are the responsibility of the leaders you have. So if you have two leaders, you have two clusters already.

Your new leader should have its own web server & UI, try http://<leader-hostname>.local. (However, if you already added it as a “worker” to the other cluster, this url might not work).

Does that make sense?

Any reason you want to have more than one cluster? We find that having a single cluster & dividing workers to different experiments is often sufficient, but I’m curious about your use-case.
