- Wet autoclave
- Dry autoclave
- Chemical sterilization (eth., bleach, other)
- Gamma/other radiation
- Other (please comment)
- Rinsing with water & ethanol
- Targazyme enzymatic detergent bath overnight
- Wet autoclave 130°C for 20 minutes
Depends on how prepared I am
70% ethanol rinse if I’ve forgotten to autoclave, but we’ve bought extra vials now and plan to have them autoclaved and ready to go with media without the trace elements/autoclave sensitive stuff

Prior experiments:
For the tubing inside the head of the peristaltic pumps, I use bleach followed by sterilised RO water to eliminate residues. Removing and reassembling this part is difficult without damaging it and the clips that attach the head to the motor suffer from mechanical fatigue.
The rest of the system is autoclaved (121ºC/ 15 min)

After experiments:
The tubing is disinfected with bleach and subsequently rinsed with sterilised RO water to remove residues. Air is flushed through the tubing to eliminate residual water, and the system is then dried at 60 °C in an oven.
