Hey everyone,
I want to hear the opinion of the people in the forum (potentially also the Pioreactor technicians) regarding the importance of the thicker O-ring (#121) that lines at the bottom piece of v1.1.
From my personal experience, the ring makes it really difficult to screw the flat surfaced screws (M2.5-CS 6mm) which are really delicate and get destroyed in most of the attempts. This happens because the O-ring (#121) causes misalignment of the screw holes between the bottom piece and heating PCB at step 1 of wetware assembly of v1.1. Hence, I decided to avoid using the O-ring (#121).
Is this a big problem… I do not know but considering this ring is absent in v1.0, it might be okay to omit its use.
What do you think is the purpose of this ring? What is your stand on this? Did you also had any struggles with the sssembly of this piece?
