Problems in the resuming (or stopping) of the dosing automation

Good afternoon everyone,

I have a problem with a pioreactor not being able to stop or resuming the dosing automation (turbidostat). I have rebooted and restarted the reactor and all the possibilities thereof, but at this point it seems it is a failure of the software. Is it possible to re-start the dosing automation somehow without rebooting the leader? If so, how? Thanks!

Hi @puiggene07, welcome!

Do you mean that the UI button for dosing automation is stuck on “Pause” and “Stop”? (And clicking it does nothing?)

Can you describe the sequence of events that makes this occur? Does it occur on all your Pioreactors - if you have multiple - or just one?

I’m a bit newbie here so let’s see if I can answer correctly. Yes, it is the UI button, neither Stop nor Resume will do anything, and it says “Paused”. I was running a turbidostat, but I may (I don’t fully remember) have had to play around with the manual adjustments during the turbidostat. It is though a bit unclear for me too, how exactly it happened. I restarted and rebooted the reactor unit, and nothing changed.
It is only happening to one pioreactor, the others are working fine.

right, I think I know what is going wrong. Is it consistently happening to that one reactor, or has it been a one-time thing? And it’s only occurring with dosing automation?

It has been going on to that one and only pioreactor. However it is the first time that it happens. And yes, it only occurs to the dosing automation.

I have some theories about what is happening, but will take some time to test.

Is your turbidostat settings extreme in any way? (large volume exchanged, very frequent dosing, etc)

It is not, no. 4 ml diluting every few hours. It is a rather slow growing strain. In any ways, we have solved by just restarting an experiment. Thanks for your input and time, regardless.
