I wanted to share a problem I encountered with SD cards on Mac and the solution I found, in case it helps others.
Sometimes, due to Wi-Fi issues at work, I need to reimage the Pio. This involves plugging the SD card into my Mac and erasing it using Disk Utility. I typically use 32GB SD cards, but after erasing them, they would only show 520MB of capacity instead of the full 32GB when plugged back in. Quite frustrating!
However, I discovered that using the Raspberry Pi Imager to erase the card prevents this issue. After erasing with the Imager, the card appears as a freshly reformatted SD card with its full capacity restored.
I’m not sure why this happens, but I hope this tip helps anyone facing the same problem.
